It Looks Like Zack Snyder Will Be Shooting New JUSTICE LEAGUE Footage with the Core Cast After All
When it was initially announced that Warner Bros. and HBO Max were moving forward with director Zack Snyder’s four-episode Justice League: Director’s Cut, it was made clear that members of the cast would come back to record additional dialogue for the film, but that there would be no additional footage shot with the cast. Well, it looks like that element has changed.
THR is now reporting that additional scenes will, in fact, be shot with Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. These reshoots will take place next month.
The report notes that Fisher's involvement is particularly interesting given the current situation he is in with Warner Bros. As you know, the actor has accused Joss Whedon, as well as producers Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, of abusive and disrespectful behavior while shooting the film after Snyder left the project.
Snyder and his team have been cutting the film together, finishing the VFX work, and adding in the new musical score. This was supposed to cost the studio around $30 million to complete, but with the core members of the cast come back to shoot additional scenes, you can bet those costs are a lot higher.
It’ll be interesting to eventually see the work that went into the process of creating this ultimate cut of Justice League.
Justice League: Director’s Cut will hit HBO Max in 2021.
