It Seems Like Joe Russo Just Confirmed That Captain Marvel is in INFINITY WAR

Even with everything that has been revealed about Avengers: Infinity War so far, we still don't know that much about it or a confirmation of all the characters who will be involved. One character that we've seen some back and forth on is Brie Larson's Captain Marvel.

Last year at Comic-Con, director Joe Russo confirmed that she wouldn't be in the film. Then last week it was confirmed again. One thing that is for sure is that she will be in Avengers 4. But after all the denial that she would be in Infinity War, Russo dropped her name in a line-up of female characters that WILL be the film.

ET recently released an interview with the Russo Brothers, and when talking about all the great female characters that will be in the movie he says:

"Yeah, we have some great female characters in this. Captain Marvel is in it, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, we have Wakanda is coming in and there's a whole group of characters that are coming from the Wakandan universe, from the Black Panther universe. Amazingly strong characters, strong-willed characters, and we have the Guardians, and two of the Guardians are daughters of Thanos so there's a really strong connection to the main villain of the story and I think you'll see in the film that they're very pivotal to the storyline and I think the arcs are fantastic so, we're really really proud of being able to introduce Captain Marvel in this one."

Now, it is possible that he could be referring to the cast of both Infinity War and Avengers 4. But there is one odd thing that he says at the end... "we're really proud of being able to introduce Captain Marvel in this one." From everything that we've heard, Captain Marvel isn't supposed to be introduced until her solo film, and then her story would carry on into Avengers 4.

I guess she could come into play at some point while any number of characters could be traveling across the galaxy. Maybe Thor as he is searching for his new weapon with Rocket and Groot? Maybe she will be introduced in the post-credits scene for the film?

Either Russo just slipped up and said something he wasn't supposed to say, or he's just screwing with the fans, knowing that someone like me would catch it and write up a whole article about it.

We'll find out if Captain Marvel does show up in the film on April 27th!

Only ET was on set with brothers Joe and Anthony Russo who directed the highly-anticipated Marvel film, 'Avengers: Infinity Watr,' which hits theaters on April 27. More from Entertainment Tonight: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdtXPiqI2cLorKaPrfpKc4g?sub_confirmation=1
