IT Star Bill Skarsgård Says He Has a “Really F–king Cool” Idea for The Joker

It star Bill Skarsgård has been the topic of conversation among movie fans recently due to his recent performance as Count Orlock in Nosferatu.

The actor is known for taking on these super creepy and strange characters and bringing them to life in terrifying ways and there’s one crazy comic villain that he would love to play one day… The Joker.

While a guest on the Happy Sad Confused podcast to talk about his career and upcoming projects, the topic of superheroes came up, and that’s when he talked about wanting to take on The Joker. He said:

“I think I have a really f–king cool Joker in me, probably, somewhere. I think that’d be pretty sick.”

He went on to share that he grew up as a comic book fan and that Batman was his favorite comic. With DC Studios developing a new Batman film with The Brave and the Bold, there is an opportunity for another actor like Skarsgard to play the Joker.

Andy Muschietti is set to direct The Brave and the Bold, which is inspired by Grant Morrison's popular Batman comics run, and it will focus on Bruce Wayne's relationship with his biological son, Damian Wayne.

When asked about Muschietti being announced for the project, Skarsgård said:

“Yeah. I don’t know exactly where he is with it, but yeah, so that was cool.”

The actor went on to talk about Heath Ledger’s version of the Joker, syaing:

“I was like 17 or whatever, and that Heath performance… and then he passed away. I was an aspiring actor, and to me, he represented everything that I wanted to be. His passing and that performance hit me hard at that time.”

Bill Skarsgard is a talented actor and I have no doubt he would do something really interesting, unique, and insane with The Joker. I would love to see his take on the character and I hope one day we get the opportunity to see that.
