IT Star Chosen Jacobs Joins Stephen King's Hulu Series CASTLE ROCK
Chosen Jacobs, the young actor who starred in the recent adaptation of Stephen King's IT as Mike Hanlon, has just jumped on board another King project! According to Deadline, the actor will be in Hulu's upcoming series Castle Rock which J.J. Abrams is also producing.
Jacobs will play Wendell Deaver, the son of Henry Deaver (Andre Holland). Deaver is a death-row attorney who has a connection to Bill Skarsgard's character, who is a prisoner at Shawshank prison. There's no information on how big Jacobs' role will be. As you know, Skarsgard also starred in IT as Pennywise.
Castle Rock is a 10-episode psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse. It "combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. As a series, Castle Rock aims to explore various themes and worlds, uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories."
I loved what I saw in the most recent trailer that was released and I'm curious to see how this whole thing turns out. I just hope it's as awesome as it sounds like it will be.
The series is being written by Manhattan creator Sam Shaw and Dusty Thomason. It also has a great cast of actors that includes Scott Glenn (Daredevil), Andre Holland (Moonlight), Sissy Spacek (Carrie), Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy (Evil Dead), Bill Skarsgard (IT), and Terry O-Quinn (Lost).
The series is set to be released on Hulu sometime this year.
