IT: WELCOME TO DERRY Star Says the Finale Will Really Terrify and Shock Fans

The first season of It: Welcome to Derry has already delivered some eerie twists that pushed the It universe into darker territory, and according to the cast, the most intense moments are still ahead.

As the prequel series marches toward its conclusion, several of its young stars are teasing a finale that will leave viewers completely rattled.

It: Welcome to Derry expands the mythology behind Pennywise, digging into the disturbing roots of the malevolent entity that terrorized Derry in the films. Early episodes have established a bleak and unsettling tone with surprising revelations, and it sounds like the series is ready to escalate everything in its final chapter.

During a conversation with Collider, Clara Stack, Amanda Christine, and Matilda Lawler opened up about what fans should brace for as the first season comes to an end. Stack, who plays Lilly, described what the cast experienced while reading the final scripts.

“Honestly, reading the scripts, it was just shock after shock after shock. There are so many plot twists within this series that I think are really going to shock the audience.

“They’re really relevant to the plot and really surprising. And there are so many incredible, horrific, and tense sequences throughout this series. I think people watching are just going to be really terrified and really shocked. I’m super excited for everyone to see all the work that we put into it.”

Lawler huinted at a deeper connection between the prequel and the larger It franchise, saying: “I’m excited for people to see the ways that the last few episodes of the series go further into the origins of the entity and connect to both the movies more deeply.”

Christine also shared how the series ties into Stephen King’s source material, saying: “The last episodes dive into the origin story, and they get into the books and the movies. So, just stay tuned for everything to come.”

Fans of King’s lore and the recent films have plenty to look forward to as the season wraps up. With the cast promising unsettling twists, heightened horror, and a finale that pulls the mythology together, it feels like the series is preparing to go out with something truly chilling.

The first season of It: Welcome to Derry concludes on December 14, 2025, and is seems like audiences are in for an unforgettable ride.
