Ivan Reitman Has Another Idea For a GHOSTBUSTERS Movie Based on the Comic Book

Comic Books have been a huge hit with films recently. We have so many movies based on comic books coming out. At the same time, we also have seen many comic books based on movies being released. One of those ideas comes from a Ghostbusters comic that Ivan Reitman is saying would make a good movie. It looks like everything is going full circle.

During his panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Reitman talked about Ghostbuster and the animated film currently in development saying:

"I think we have wonderful plans, an animated feature that we're deep in design on already... a really great story, that's going to surprise everybody, I think, when it comes out. And we're dealing with a Ghost World quite a lot. We're looking at the film from a ghost point-of-view, and the Ghostbusters from a ghost point-of-view. I think that would be something very interesting."

He then went on to explain that the animated feature isn't the only Ghostbusters movie they want to make. They also want to make another live-action film and that's the one that is being inspired by the comics.

"It was clear a lot of people weren't happy the new Ghostbusters world wasn't included in the new one. I love seeing Kate McKinnon's character's interactions with Spengler [in the Ghostbusters 101 comic books]. It's very rich, and has given me lots of ideas for a new film."

So, Ivan Reitman has not planned for one but 2 Ghostbusters movies. The animated version and another live action film. He also wants to somehow combine the two Ghostbuster worlds. Hmmmm, Ok. Just, you know... make it good this time. Reitman finally also noted that the studio may try and get one of these Ghostbusters films released in 2019, to match up with the 35th anniversary of Ghostbusters. Here's hoping they don't rush it too much.
