Ivan Reitman Has Dropped Some Info on Paul Rudd's Character in the Upcoming GHOSTBUSTERS 3

Details of the newest film in the Ghostbusters franchise, Ghostbusters 2020, have been scarce at best, so every little bit of casting or story news we get is pretty dang exciting. This past weekend, Universal Studios Halloween Haunt hosted its press preview night, and Dan Aykroyd and original director, now producer, Ivan Reitman took a stroll through the new Ghostbusters maze.

While at the event, a reporter for ET was able to ask Reitman if he could tell a little bit about Paul Rudd’s character. The only thing we knew about him up to this point was that he was a teacher at the young characters’ school.

Here’s what Reitman had to say:

“Well, he’s a seismologist who’s come to this small town because they’ve been having mysterious earthquakes. He’s also teaching summer school there.”

This is pretty cool. It probably means that there is a supernatural answer to the question of the earthquakes. I am so excited for this movie! I can’t wait to see the storylines merge, and see the original cast members back in action.

Aykroyd is back, as well as Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts. Harold Ramis has unfortunately passed away, but things would feel totally complete if we could just get Rick Moranis to come back on board. Jason Reitman, son of Ivan, is directing the film.

Ghostbusters 2020 is set to hit theaters on July 10, 2020. Are you pumped?!
