Jack Black Says There's a New TENACIOUS D Movie Sequel in Development
Jack Black and Kyle Gass' 2006 movie Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny was a fun and ridiculous movie that seemed like a one and done kind of thing. It was a product of its time when the actual band Tenacious D was at their peak of popularity. Also, the movie completely bombed at the box office and only made $13.9 million on a budget of $20 million. You'd think that fact alone would guarantee that a sequel would never be made.
But, according to Jack Black, there's a sequel in development and it will be coming out in October. The news comes from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Black told them:
“I don’t know where you’ll be able to see it, but we have decided that it’s happening and it’s coming out.”
There are absolutely no other details on the film project or any info on the story, but I'm sure it will be just as silly and absurd as the first movie! One thing is for sure, the project is sure to be super low-budget.
It'll be interesting to see what they end up coming up with for the sequel. We'll fill you in on any new details that become available. In the meantime, let us know what you think about Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny getting a sequel. Personally, I don't really care, but if they make it, I'll watch it!
Now, enjoy one of the best scenes from the first more...
