Jack Nicholsen Set to Star Alongside Kristen Wiig in TONI ERDMANN Remake
Jack Nicholson hasn't starred in a movie since 2010's How Do You Know. He hasn't done anything really memorable since The Departed in 2006! It's good to see that he hasn't retired yet and that he's still up for making movies.
Nicholson is set to star alongside Kristen Wiig in an Americanized remake of a German comedy called Toni Erdmann. Adam Mckay (The Big Short, Anchorman, Ant-Man) is set to produce the film with Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, and Maren Ade, the writer and director of the original film, which was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Academy Awards this year.
I've never seen the film, but the story follows "a practical joking father who tries to reconnect with his hard working daughter by creating an outrageous alter ego and posing as her CEO’s life coach."
I assume that Nicholson will play the father and Wiig will be playing his daughter in the film. This is definitely a great team-up of actors, and it'll be fun to see them in a movie together. Especially with this film, because it seems like a perfect fit for both of them.
