Jackie Chan Shoots Down Those RUSH HOUR 4 Reports

We recently shared a photo that was shared by Chris Tucker of him and Jackie Chan together teasing Rush Hour 4 by holding up the number four with their fingers. This got the online buzz rolling and a lot of people were actually excited to see some movement on the project.

Well, it turns out that there is no movement on the project. Jackie Chan’s management company released a statement shooting down the rumor. Not only does it crush Rush Hour 4, but it also crushes the rumors that he will appear in the sequel to the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid.

When previously talking about Rush Hour 4 back in 2012, Chan said in an interview with Power 106:

“For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed… the script, probably end of this month. They’re on the second draft. Next year, probably start. I hope. If Chris Tucker agrees. It’s not about money. It’s about time to make, otherwise… Rush Hour 4, we’re all like old men! Before we get old. I tell Chris Tucker, before we get old, please, do Rush Hour 4!”

Well, all these years later it looks like maybe the project is completely dead. The letter that was issued makes it very clear that Chan is not a part of the movie. That’s kind of a bummer for some fans that were looking forward to it, but Chan obviously has other plans and projects that he is working on.
