Jada Pinkett Smith joins GOTHAM

Fox has cast Jada Pinkett Smith in their Batman prequel series Gotham. She will play Fish Mooney, "a sadistic gangster with street smarts and a short temper." She will basically be Penguin's boss. Smith is a solid actress, and she'll make a great addition to the series.
The show will focus on a younger version of James Gordon, who is being played by Ben McKenzie. Other cast members include Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, and Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a the Penguin.
The hour long series was written by The Mentalist’s Bruno Heller, and the first episode will be directed by Danny Cannon (CSI).
