Jai Courtney Is Reprising His Captain Boomerang Role in James Gunn's THE SUICIDE SQUAD

While James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is supposed to be a “total reboot,” it looks like we are going to see another member of the original cast return to reprise his role.

In an interview with Business Insider, Jai Courtney surprisingly revealed that that he would be reprising his role of Captain Boomerang. I was personally never really a fan of this character so I could not care less if he came back, but since he is, I’m sure Gunn will find a way to have some fun with him. Courtney said:

"We're getting ready to shoot in a few months' time. There's not much else I can reveal about it but, yeah, you'll be seeing Boomerang back for sure."

Courtney will be joining Idris Elba, who will play Deadshot, and there’s also word that Margot Robbie will be back as Harley Quinn.

While we don’t have any concrete story details, it is rumored that the current draft of the script could “follow the team on a mission to the Middle East to stop Onslaught and infiltrate their headquarters in Qurac. This seems like a fitting type of story for the ‘Suicide Squad’ that will keep the stakes lower compared to the first film.”

The Suicide Squad is set to be released date is currently set for Aug. 6, 2021.

What do you think about Jai Courtney coming back to play Captain Boomerang?
