Jake Busey is Playing The Son of Gary Busey's PREDATOR 2 Character in THE PREDATOR

I was wondering if the casting of Jake Busey in Shane Black's The Predator would connect to his real life father's character in Predator 2. Turns out he does have a connection! Jake revealed that he is playing the son of Gary Busey's Special Agent Peter Keyes from the original sequel. While talking to The Red Booth in an interview the actor said: 

“[Shane Black] called me and he said ‘Hey, you wanna do this movie? We don’t have money for you but it’ll be a fun thing to come play and be your father’s son.’ And so as much as I have followed in my Dad’s footsteps career-wise, this is like really following in his footsteps by playing a character who is the son of the character he played. And I don’t think there would be any other forum where I would do that. I think this is the one thing.”

That's pretty cool that he was willing to do that even though the production didn't have any money for him to do it! He must've got paid something! He obviously doesn't have a main role in the story that the movie will tell, but I'm sure he does play a key role in it. Busey went on to share his thoughts on The Predator and what we can expect saying: 

"If you liked the very first movie a lot, you’ll really like this one. This one has a lot of essence of the first movie."

That's good to know! I loved the first movie! I even enjoyed the sequel, but not as much as the first one. I recently rewatched the sequel, which I hadn't seen in years, and it was actually a lot better than I remember. 

In the film, Gary Busey played the leader of a drug cartel task force who was basically using the task force as a front for hunting down the Predator.

The Predator hits theaters August 3rd, 2018.
