Jake Gyllenhaal Says That He Will Not Be Playing Batman for Director Matt Reeves

Last year it was reported that Matt Reeves wanted a new actor to take on the role of Batman in the Batman film he's currently developing. We knew he was meeting with actors and the only name to surface that Reeves said he wanted to cast in the role was Jake Gyllenhaal. 

Well, it doesn't sound like we'll be seeing Gyllenhaal wearing a cape and cowl anytime soon. The actor was recently asked if he would the next Batman in an interview with CNA Lifestyle, and this was his response:

"Wow, that’s a very difficult question. The answer to that question is ‘no'".

So it doesn't look like Gyllenhaal will be playing the new Batman. Unless he just gave that answer to throw people off. If Gyllenhaal was in the running for the role Batman, it's not like he could come out and say "Yes! I'm Batman!"
