Jake Gyllenhaal Set to Star in a Heist Thriller Titled CUT AND RUN

Jake Gyllenhaal is set to star in a new heist thriller titled Cut and Run, which is about “a group of thieves who use high-powered speed boats to rob super-yachts. Their caper takes a turn when they steal the wrong thing from the wrong group of people.”

The project was acquired by New Republic Pictures, who won the rights to the spec script that was written by John Glenn (Eagle Eye, Law Abiding Citizen). Apparently, there was a bidding war that involved several potential buyers.

Gyllenhaal will also produce the project through his company Nine Stories Productions. New Republic founder Brian Oliver and president Bradley Fischer will also produce alongside Glenn.

I enjoy watching heist films and I can’t say I’ve ever seen one that involves robbing super-yachts. This sounds like it’ll be a fun flick for Gyllenhaal to be a part of.
