Jake Gyllenhaal To Star In New Film From M. Night Shyamalan and Nicholas Sparks
M. Night Shyamalan is developing his next mysterious film project with an original story, a supernatural romantic thriller, that he’s working on with bestselling author Nicholas Sparks.
Jake Gyllenhall is set to star in the film and Shyamalan and Sparks are “independently writing a screenplay and a novel, respectively, based on the same original love story.”
Both projects will be based on the same concept and set of characters, but but they will be tailored to their respective mediums.
This is an interesting collaboration. I would not have guessed that we’d see M. Night Shyamalan and Nicolas Sparks teaming up for a project like this. Sparks is the author who wrote The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, Dead John, and more romantic novels.
Shymalan is a very hot or miss director and his last film, Trap, was not good at all. I would love to see him make another hit, though.
I’m curious to see what comes of this and I hope that whatever it is ends up being something really unique, cool, and creepy.
