James Cameron Congratulates AVENGERS: ENDGAME on Surpassing AVATAR as the Biggest Box Office Hit of All Time
This weekend at Comic-Con it was officially confirmed that Avengers: Endgame surpassed James Cameron’s Avatar to become the highest grossing film of all time. That’s quite a feat, and I think we all knew it would eventually happen.
Cameron’s film ended its run with $2,789,700,000. Avengers: Endgame has so far made $2,790,216,193. So it barely edged it out, and the film is still in theaters in some places.
James Cameron congratulated Marvel and Avengers: Endgame for dethroning Avatar with the following tweet:
Congratulations, @MarvelStudios! pic.twitter.com/DWZDX0uDVi

The note reads, “Oel Ngati Kamele, I see you Marvel. Congratulations to Avengers: Endgame on being the new box office king. - Jim Cameron" Just in case you’re not aware, "Oel ngatie kamele" means "I See You," in the native language of the Na'vi people.
Marvel and Disney really wanted to take this top spot of highest grossing movie ever, and they actually pulled it off! Good for them! They certainly earned it.
