James Cameron Had 1,000 Pages of Notes For Robert Rodriguez Regarding The ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL Trilogy

James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel was a pretty badass sci-fi movie. I loved it! Unfortunately, it didn’t do as well at the box office as the studio would have hoped. At this point, I have no idea if we are going to see a sequel, but when Cameron and Rodriguez set out on the journey to tell the story of Alita, they envisioned it as a trilogy.

The end of the first film set up a sequel, especially with the reveal of Edward Norton as the big bad villain Nova. When talking about the plans for the sequels, Rodriguez said that Cameron wrote up 1,000 page of notes for him! He didn’t send him all those notes, though, Cameron only ended up sending 600 pages of them.

1,000 page of notes! That just shows you how detailed Cameron is in regards to the films he makes and the story he tells. This is one of the reasons why he’s a great storyteller. Rodriguez went on to say:

"There's like one whole document about the trilogy. Because that's just part of his process. 'Here are three movies. Just so you know what to include in the first story and whatnot.'"

I hope that one day they will get to make a sequel. I would love to see them get to make the trilogy they set out to tell.

Do you think we’ll ever see this Alita: Battle Angel trilogy get made? Would you like to see the other two films get made?
