James Cameron is Producing a TV Series Reboot of TRUE LIES

True Lies is easily one of my favorite James Cameron films and it's also one of his most overlooked. In my opinion, the movie is one of the best action comedies ever made. Well, the 1994 film which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis, is being rebooted as a TV series.

Cameron, who wrote and directed the original film, is set to executive produce the series, which is being scripted by Marc Guggenheim, who is an executive producer and writer on Arrow. According to THR, the series will be "a modern version of the story about how a suburban couple adjusts when one of them is revealed to be a spy."

McG is also an executive producer on the project and he will direct the pilot episode. I'm not the biggest fan of McG's film work, but he's actually done some solid TV projects, so this might be a good fit for him. I'm just surprised Cameron is working with him after the disappointing work he did on Terminator: Salvation.

It's not hard to see the potential of a True Lies TV series. I just hope that they can capture that awesome magic again that blended the action and humor together so perfectly. If they can pull that off, this series could be a big hit.
