James Cameron's AVATAR is Coming Back To Theaters in HDR and Here's a Trailer

In preparation for the release of Avatar: The Way of Water, 20th Century Studios is re-releasing James Cameron's Avatar in theaters again at the end of September. This version of Avatar will be presented in 4K HDR both in regular cinemas and IMAX theaters.

The studio released a trailer promoting the re-release of the film, which stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, and Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, along with Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, CCH Pounder, Wes Studi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, and Giovanni Ribisi.

I understand the reasoning for re-releasing Avatar in theaters as it’s been 13 years since it first premiered. I personally don’t feel the need to watch Avatar again, but the opportunity is there for anyone who wants to take it!

Avatar is the story of “a paraplegic ex-Marine who arrives on the planet Pandora and, as an Avatar - a human mind in an alien body - finds himself in a desperate fight for his survival and that of the indigenous species called Na'vi.”

20th Century will re-release Cameron's Avatar in theaters nationwide starting on September 23rd, 2022. Avatar: The Way of Water is scheduled to open in theaters on December 16th, 2022.
