James Grey To Direct Depression Era Ghost Story Film EZEKIEL MOSS
Director James Gray (We Own The Night, Two Lovers, Armageddon Time) is teaming up with Focus Features for an interesting new project titled Ezekiel Moss.
The film is a ghost story set during the depression and it follows “a young, imaginative boy living in a small town who befriends a mysterious drifter who may or may not have the supernatural ability to communicate with the dead.”
The script for the movie comes from Keith Bunin and the most recent draft is said to have blown the studio and director away. Gray and Bunin will now team up to develop the full story as they prep for production.
The studio has been developing for awhile and at one point the late Philip Seymour Hoffman was planning to direct prior to his tragic death in 2014.
I’m fascinated with the depression era and I’m surprised that we don’t see more stories told set in that time period. This is the kind of story that I know I’m going to enjoy.
