James Gunn and Chris Pratt Discuss if Original Gamora Was Still Alive in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3
Director James Gunn is about to unveil his final MCU chapter with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and he and star of the film, Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the films, sat down with Collider to chat about the franchise and the film. One of the interesting and kind of sad things asked of them in the interview was what they thought the future would have looked like for Star-Lord if the original Gamora was still alive in this film. How might his path have been different?
Pratt responded:
“Oh, I think that they were in love. I think the next natural step is that they would have started a family and been happy to be together, I suppose.”
He then thought better of it though, saying:
“Yeah, he would have probably blown it though. He would have screwed it up somehow. Hopefully, otherwise, this wouldn’t be a great movie.”
Gunn then joked:
“She woulda hooked up with Adam Warlock like she does in the comics.”
Pratt quipped back:
“Oh, that would be good for them. That’d be good.”
Of course we can’t truly know what that would have looked like because there are so many other branches of story that could have taken over between then and now in the MCU. Maybe she would have fallen victim to the snap! Who knows? What we have now though is an angry alternate Gamora, and hopefully she will learn to love Peter Quill all over again.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theatres this Friday!
