James Gunn Confirms 7-Year-Old Fan's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 2 Baby Groot Fan Theory
Fans are well aware that director James Gunn is a big fan of Easter eggs in his films. Many have been found in his films, and he even put one so obscure in Guardians of the Galaxy, that the director says it is still only halfway solved today. But a new fan theory has been connected by a 7-year-old girl who was watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and her mom took to Twitter to ask Gunn if her kid was on to something.
She said, “My 7-year old has concluded that the pot Baby Groot is eating his candy out of right here is the same one he was growing in. Is she right? :)”
Gunn responded, “I like that theory, so let's say yes. And you can tell your 7-year-old she invented it.”
That’s a pretty fun interaction! Not only did the girl catch the connection, but she is credited for the theory. Realizing there’s a connection in Gunn’s work that he didn’t make himself is a pretty big deal, so kudos to that girl!
