James Gunn Confirms a New Easter Egg Found in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

For years director James Gunn has been teasing a hidden Easter Egg in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. He swears it's there but no one has found it. A fan recently did discover a little Easter egg though, and posted it on Social Media, tagging Gunn. Gunn confirms that the Easter egg is legit, but that it is NOT the Easter egg he has been teasing.

This new Easter egg that has never been pointed out before is in reference to Stan Lee's cameo in the film. As you'll see below, the fan went through the trouble of translating the Skrull language in the scene, noting that it should be read as "Excelsior!" which, as you know, is a phrase commonly used by Lee.

This was Gunn's reply to the Easter egg find:

It's pretty cool to see that another Easter egg has been found in the movie. We know that there is at least one more! Hell, maybe even more that are waiting to be found by the fans. When previously talking about the hidden Easter egg, Gunn said:

“I’m not going to let you know, but I will give you some path. There’s a very secret hidden easter egg in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. Some people have gotten very, very close...to what that easter egg is."
“Maybe you’ve even found partial the easter egg [sic]. I haven’t said you’ve found it because you haven’t found the whole thing yet. You need to find the entire easter egg for me to say, ‘Yes, you’ve found it.’ It’s there. It’s already been partially uncovered. You just need to find the whole thing.”

So... let the hunt for the hidden Easter egg in Guardians of the Galaxy continue! One day someone will find it.
