James Gunn Confirms Batman Is a Big Part of His DC Universe Which Will Focus on Well-Known and Lesser Known Characters
James Gunn continues to answer fan questions on Twitter and tease additional information about what he and Peter Safran are planning for their new DC Cinematic Universe.
First of all, with Matt Reeves building his own Batman universe, fans have been wondering if we will see a different version of Batman running around in Gunn’s DCU. The answer to that is yes! A fan asked Gunn if Batman would play a role in the DC Universe and the filmmaker said that “he’s a big part of the DCU.”
When previously talking about the new DC plans, CEO David Zaslav talked about Batman, saying: "There's not going to be four Batmans,” but we now know there’s going to be at least two of them!
That’s not all! Gunn also confirmed that they will “be focusing on the most well-known and some lesser known characters simultaneously." Details on who these characters will be have yet to be revealed, but we all know who the well-known characters could be and they obviously include Superman and Batman.
As for the lesser-known characters, there are so many to choose from, but leave it to Gunn to choose the weirdest and most interesting to play with! I’m curious to see what lesser-known characters Gunn will unleash in the DCU. I’m actually more excited about those characters than the A-listers.
Are there any lesser-known DC characters that you’d like to see plucked from obscurity? Let us know in the comments below!
