James Gunn Confirms Cool Shooting News for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: COSMIC REWIND Disney World Ride
MCU fans have been as patient as possible when it comes to the timeline of our favorite and most anticipated Marvel movies, sequels, and TV series that were all supposed to have kicked off last May. After almost a year of pushbacks and delays, and a bit of a timeline shakeup, we seem to be back on track, but many titles are still very far in the future.
One sequel that feels forever away is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is set to hit theaters in 2023. We are getting The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special in 2022, but that is also quite some time away. But director James Gunn has confirmed that he is working on these two projects simultaneously, as well as a third project with these characters.
In a Tweet from Fandom stating Gunn’s crazy schedule this year, a fan asked if Gunn is also planning on filming ride scenes for the Disney World roller coaster attraction Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Gunn confirmed that, “Yes Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Disney World is also on the agenda.”
Gunn is a crazy busy guy! He wrapped shooting on The Suicide Squad (due out on August 6) this week, and is in production on the DC HBO Max series Peacemaker (due out next year), and will then go straight into production on all the Guardians of the Galaxy projects. Gunn has a lot of irons in the fire, but we are stoked for all of them!
What are you most looking forward to from James Gunn?
