James Gunn Confirms Three Actors That Will Continue to Play Their DC Characters in His New Universe
In the turmoil that has been the changing of hands at DC studios, fans have been waiting for the dust to settle as we slowly get information on James Gunn and Peter Safran’s film and TV plans moving forward. One thing that has remained up in the air has been some of the casting of new projects, and whether or not we will see returning stars integrated into the new movies. But Gunn has confirmed three of the DC actors who will definitely be returning to their roles.
In a recent X post, Gunn said that the new Extended DCEU canon will welcome back Xolo Maridueña as Blue Beetle, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and John Cena as Peacemaker.
Gunn is pretty good about answering fan questions, but he has also made it clear that he can’t reveal everything at this time, with a recent Threads post, saying:
"Nothing is canon until Creature Commandos next year – a sort of aperitif to the DCU – & then a deeper dive into the universe with Superman: Legacy after that," Gunn clarified. "It's a very human drive to want to understand everything all the time, but I think its okay to be confused on what's happening in the DCU since no one has seen anything from the DCU yet."
It will all come together and be revealed in due time. Check out the post below, and let us know which DC character you’d like to have locked in for the future of the DCEU.
