James Gunn is Developing a Reboot of the Classic Cop Series STARSKY AND HUTCH

Sony Pictures Television is developing a reboot of the classic cop series Starsky and Hutch and they have hired James Gunn to develop it as an executive producer! The fact that the guy behind the Guardians of the Galaxy films is working on this series reboot means that it has a good chance of being a great and enjoyable series.

Gunn will also most likely write the project with his brother Brian Gunn and their cousin Mark Gunn. They will all serve as producers as well.

The original series starred David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser as detectives David Starsky and Kenneth “Hutch” Hutchinson. Together they would fight crime in the fictional Bay City. It ran for four seasons from 1975-1979 on ABC.

This is one one of those series that I'm familiar with, but I never really watched it. In 2004 Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson made a film adaptation that I remember enjoying, but I haven't seen it years.

I'm just excited to see that James Gunn is working on a TV project outside of his work at Marvel. It'll be interesting to see how his Starsky and Hutch series turns out.
