James Gunn Pitched a Harley Quinn and Groot Team Up Movie To Both Marvel and DC

Director James Gunn would really love to see a Marvel and DC crossover movie, and he’s got a great concept that he’s actually pitched to people at Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment. The filmmaker behind Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad wants to make a movie that would bring together Harley Quinn and Groot, and I’m 100% on board! He shared in an interview with Jake’s Takes:

“I would really be happy to do a Harley Quinn and Groot movie. Not only have I thought about that, but I have actually talked about that to the heads of both Marvel and DC. It’s like everybody’s open to everything, but whether anything would ever happen, who knows? But the idea of being able to bring Marvel and DC together in a movie, that would be really fun for me.”

Gunn also previously said that he would like to see a movie that features an adventure with King Shark, Rocket, Weasel, and Groot. Of course, he could just throw Harley into the mix. Regardless, I think a Marvel and DC crossover movie like this would be absolutely bonkers! Who knows if it’ll ever happen, but it’s interesting that he says the heads of both studios are open to everything. So, he’s saying there’s a chance. Gunn Went on to say:

"But the idea of being able to bring Marvel and DC together in a movie, that would be really fun for me. And, I know it's exciting for even the heads of Marvel and DC to think about, Kevin Feige over at Marvel and Tobey Emmerich over at Warner Bros... It's something we all like to dream about, whether we can ever get through the barrage, the Berlin Wall of lawyers we would need to get through to ever make something like that happen, I don't know. But, it would be a blast."
