James Gunn Reveals Stan Lee's Hilarious Alternate Cameos For DOCTOR STRANGE
One of many people's favorite moments of Marvel films is the obligatory Stan Lee scene. Is it cheesy and does it take us out of the moment a little? Sure. But it also is so fun and gives great respect to a man who has done so much for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Doctor Strange's Stan Lee scene was nice with Lee on a bus as Doctor Strange smashes into it. But apparently, there were alternate scenes that were shot that featured Lee saying different things. And wow... They're awesome!
James Gunn had directed the Lee cameo scene as a favor to director Scott Derrickson. Gunn recently released what those other cameo scenes were on Facebook. One was Lee asking someone if they knew what Excelsior meant. One was him throwing his head back and yelling "I'm laughing for no reason! I'm totally crazy!". But the third was the best. It had apparently been amongst the edits, but was cut for being too long for the scene. It involved Stan Lee reading a Garfield Comic book laughing hysterically and saying "He HATES Mondays! But he LOVES lasagna!".
