James Gunn Reveals the One Thing He Was Never Happy With in PEACEMAKER Season 2... Eagle Poop
Peacemaker Season 2 has been packed with wild storylines, bloody chaos, and plenty of heart, but James Gunn recently admitted there’s one detail that still bugs him. Surprisingly, it’s not about the action or the characters… it’s the eagle poop.
During the show’s official podcast, Gunn confessed that he was never fully satisfied with how the droppings were handled in Episode 4, “Need I Say Door”.
"I just remember I got really upset because the first time they brought it out, it looked like it was a bunch of melted ice cream or melted taffy or something.
“But like, it just looked totally fake to me, you know? It looked like it was gushier, which is kind of grosser, but it didn't look real.”
He continued:
"I'm like, 'Haven't you ever seen bird shit? Like, bird shit looks like... this', and I went and I looked up pictures of eagle shit and I sent them what it looked like.
“And it's still kind of weird in the way it snaps off; I was never a hundred percent happy with it, but it was much better than it originally was."
The infamous moment happens when Chris (John Cena) escapes with his loyal sidekick Eagly after Economos (Agee) warns him about A.R.G.U.S.’s raid. Unfortunately, their getaway isn’t so smooth.
Michael Rooker’s Red St. Wild tracks them through the woods by following, and even tasting, Eagly’s poo.
Meanwhile, Frank Grillo’s Flag Sr. approaches Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) with a tempting new role at A.R.G.U.S., but only if she helps him capture Peacemaker. She reluctantly agrees, setting the stage for an emotional fallout later when Chris breaks the news to Adebayo that he plans to move to an alternate dimension.
It’s wild to think that of all the outrageous things in Peacemaker, eagle poop is what kept Gunn up at night.
