James Gunn Says GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Is "So, So Big and Dark" and the Last Time the Team Will Be Together
Director James Gunn is curing in production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and in a recent interview, he has confirmed once again that this sequel will be the last time that we see the Guardians team together. This is it. After this, who knows what Marvel is going to do with them in the future. There’s no doubt things are going to get both interesting and weird depending on how this movie ends.
While a guest on Deadline's Hero Nation Podcast, Gunn said, "This is the end for us, the last time people will see this team of Guardians." He went on to tease what we can expect from the film saying, “It's big; it's so, so big and dark, and different from what people might be expecting it to be. I just want to be true to the characters, the story and give people the wrap-up that they deserve for the story. That's always a little bit scary; I'm doing my best."
I have no doubt that he’s going to pull off something great with this film, and I’m excited and a little nervous about how he will close out the stories for these characters.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will see the return of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Will Poulter was recently cast as Adam Warlock. Oh yeah! Sylvester Stallone will be back as Starhawk!
We still don’t know much about the story that Gunn is looking to tell in this final chapter. But, the filmmaker has said that this next Guardians movie is going to be “gigantic,” and explained that it will tell Rocket Raccoon’s story fully.
