James Gunn Says He's Not Producing a HOWARD THE DUCK MOVIE for Marvel
Writer/Director James Gunn, known for both installments of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is trying to put the kibosh to rumors that he will produce a Howard the Duck movie for Marvel. Even though the classic comic-book character is one of Gunn’s favorites, and he made cameos in both Guardians films, Gunn tweeted:
There is NO Howard the Duck movie at the present time. There are a lot of comic characters I love but I'm not making films of them all. https://t.co/IYNzo9R2hq

The rumor sprouted after a fan tweeted Gunn, asking if it was true that he’s producing a feature of the Marvel character. Gunn replied:
My thoughts are I'm not sure how this lone tweet can be considered "rumors heating up." https://t.co/x42GT7egzE

Gunn has made it know that he is a huge Howard the Duck fan and has just about every comic book. He has expressed his disgust for the 1986 movie, especially the character design. GOTG2 concept artist Ryan Lang created a new Howard the Duck design for his cameos, in both installments of GOTG a design that we can all assume Gunn highly approves of.
What do you guys think? Are you bummed that Gunn has no plans for a Howard the Duck movie, or do we REALLY even need one?
