James Gunn Says That There's Always Discussions in Regards to a Ravagers Film

One of the cool surprises in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was the introduction of the original Guardians team. That team consisted of Starhawk (Sylvester Stallone), Aleta Ogord (Michelle Yeoh), Martinex (Michael Rosenbaum), Charlie-27 (Ving Rhames), Mainframe (Miley Cyrus), and Krugarr.

There was a lot of talk among fans about seeing a spinoff film with these characters. Even Gunn has teased that he wanted to bring Stallone back for another adventure. If that happens, I imagine the rest of the team will come along for the ride. It was just such a cool set up for these characters and it'd be a shame if Marvel never expended on them. 

During an interview with Collider, Gunn teased that there are some kind of plans being discussed for these characters. He tells them that “There’s always discussion with Ravagers" and then clarified "it would be The Ravagers." He went on to say that “It’s always a possibility. I would be excited.”

I'd be excited about seeing these characters getting a spinoff film as well! You can't set up those characters with a group of fantastic actors playing them and not do anything with them! Marvel and Gunn have got to make a spinoff film somewhere down the road!
