James Gunn Shares Original Song for THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY HOLIDAY SPECIAL
One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about the Guardians of the Galaxy films is the music that director James Gunn incorporates. Not only is it great music, but it also propels the story forward.
Well, when it comes to his upcoming project The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, he’s put together another soundtrack, and he released the tracklist for it recently, which I included below. That tracklist includes an original song titled "I Don't Know What Christmas Is (But Christmastime Is Here)," which Gunn co-wrote with Old 97's.
Gunn said: "When I wrote a song for the [Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special], I asked my pal [Rhett Miller] to write with me & then said, 'What the heck, why don't you and the [Old 97's] play the band?!' Some of the most fun days on set ever.”
That song is now available on Spotify to listen to, and I embed it below for you to check out! Have a listen and tell us what you think!
In the film, Star-Lord is feeling super down in the dumps over his situation with Gamora. So Drax and Mantis head to Earth to bring Peter Quill back the perfect present to cheer him up! Something that he’ll never forget, which is Kevin Bacon..
The film also stars Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Sean Gunn as Kraglin. It’s also been revealed that Michael Rooker will appear in the film!
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special hits Disney+ on November 25th.
