James Gunn Streams Section of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Score on Facebook Live

A common complaint we often hear about the Marvel Studios movies is that their scores are generally bland and forgettable. I generally agree with that assessment, but it sounds like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is actively looking to change that perception.

Writer/director James Gunn and composer Tyler Bates went on Facebook Live and shared a video of the orchestra recording a section of the score live from London's Abbey Road Studios, and as you'll hear, it sounds pretty damn fantastic at this point. I realize this is just a small sampling of the score and it could very well get lost under effects or dialogue in the final movie, but as someone who hasn't been head over heels about Bates' work in the past (I like his stuff, it just hasn't blown me away), this seems incredibly promising.
