James Gunn Talks a Little Bit More About THE SUICIDE SQUAD Spinoff Series PEACEMAKER

We recently learned that James Gunn, John Cena, Warner Bros., and DC Entertainment would be developing a spinoff series for The Suicide Squad titled Peacemaker, and it will revolve around Cena’s character who will make his big debut in The Suicide Squad.

Gunn is set to write the series and direct multiple episodes, including the pilot. HBO Max has ordered eight episodes of the show, and it’s described as “an action adventure comedy. The exact plot of the series is being kept under wraps, but it is said it will explore the origins of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.”

The filmmaker has taken to Twitter to answer a few fan questions regarding the series. He addresses the timeline of the story, how the idea for the series came about, if the production will affect Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and his thoughts on wrestling. He also teases that we may see other members of Task Force X in the series!

This is sure to end up being a fun series! If Gunn is passionate about it, I’m confident that something great is going to come out of it.
