James Gunn Teases Rocket Raccoon's Big Part in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3
We’ve still got a long while before we see James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on the big screen. We really know nothing about the film, but the director was asked by a fan on Twitter during a quarantine watch party for Guardians of the Galaxy if Rocket Raccoon’s origin would be explored in the upcoming film. When Gunn responded, he teased that Rocket plays a big role in what’s going to happen in the movie. In fact, it will lead to what Gunn has been planning for the character from the very beginning.
“I’ll just say Rocket is a big part of what’s happening in the future - and a lot of this stuff (like the scars we’re about to see on his back) sets up what I’ve been planning for Rocket all along.”
The filmmaker then added:
“Part of the cybernetics apparently painfully placed in his body. One of my favorite moments in the movie. Rocket’s loneliness and disaffection is at the center of the franchise for me.”
Rocket is such a wonderful character and even though he’s a Raccoon, he’s such a relatable character to a lot of people. He’s one of the most beloved characters in the MCU and It’s exciting to learn that he will play a big role in the upcoming film and I can’t wait to see the part of this story that Gunn has been planning for him from the beginning.
