James Gunn Wants To "George Lucas" a Scene Back Into GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY That Disney Made Him Cut

A fan recently reached out to director James Gunn on Twitter to ask him about the deleted scene from Guardians of the Galaxy that Disney made him cut. It was one of only two times that the filmmaker was forced to remove a scene from the films he’s made.

He previously explained, "Once in [horror movie] Slither and once in Guardians Vol. 1, I took out something (two shots in Slither, one line in Vol. 1) that I really didn't want to. But I did that as a way to compromise because the studios had been so good at letting me 'get my way.'

In response to the fan, Gunn revealed how the cut scene plays out:

"Quill: I come from a planet of outlaws, Billy the Kid, Bonnie & Clyde, John Stamos.

"Drax: Sounds like a place that I would like to visit."

"Quill: Cool."

"Drax: And kill many people there."

The moment may seem minor, but Gunn still seems very much attached to it and if he was given the chance, he would “George Lucas” it back into the movie. In a follow-up message he explained:

"I so wanna George Lucas it back in I can't tell you."

As you know, Lucas famously altered the Star Wars movies years after they were released, and continued to do so until Disney bought Lucasfilm.

I love Guardians of the Galaxy and I wouldn’t mind seeing how this scene plays out. It would be fun!
