James Gunn Will Reportedly Introduce a “Monstrous Alien Femme Fatale” in THE SUICIDE SQUAD
There’s been a lot of interesting a surprising reports regarding James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Idris Elba was cast as Deadshot, Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn, and Jai Courtney will be back as Captain Boomerang. But, the film is also said to be a “total reboot” of the franchise.
It’s certainly going to be interesting to see what exactly James Gunn is planning for this movie, and while we wait for some more concrete information to come, we have a new rumor to share with you regarding another villainous character being introduced to the franchise.
According to Revenge of the Fans, Gunn is looking for an actress in the 20-30 age range to play a "monstrous alien femme fatale," who is also described as being a "surly, muscular creature" who will require a lot of prosthetics to bring to life on the big screen.
There’s no word on who that might be, but it gives fans the opportunity to have some fun and speculate about it! There are a few DC villains that might fit this description. Some of those characters could include Voodoo, Lyssa Drak, and maybe a different version of Rampage?
While we don’t have any concrete story details, it is rumored that the current draft of the script could “follow the team on a mission to the Middle East to stop Onslaught and infiltrate their headquarters in Qurac. This seems like a fitting type of story for the ‘Suicide Squad’ that will keep the stakes lower compared to the first film.”
The Suicide Squad release date is currently set for Aug. 6, 2021.
