James Gunn Working on Getting a WONDER WOMAN Animated Series Made and He Teases THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD News

There have been reports spreading that Co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn has been looking to develop a Wonder Woman animated series on top of the live-action Paradise Lost series that is currently in the works.

Well, a fan reached out to Gunn on Twitter asking Gunn to debunk the rumors before the fans started to create expectations. When Gunn responded, it wasn’t to debunk the news, it was to confirm it. He said:

“I’ve been working on trying to get a WW animated series up and running since I’ve been here.”

You can check out that tweet below. Obviously, there are no details to share about this series, but if it does happen, it will be the second DC Studios animated project developed under Gunn and Peter Safran. The first is Creature Commandos.

The director also teased some news about the upcoming Batman movie The Brave and the Bold. When a fan asked if the movie had a director or screenwriter lined up for the film, Gunn simply said, “Maybe.”

This probably means they are in negotiations with a writer and director but they haven’t closed a deal with them yet.

Batman The Brave and The Bold is the introduction of the DCU Batman, Bruce Wayne, “and also introducing our favorite Robin, Damian Wayne, who is a little son of a bitch, assassin murderer, who he unwittingly takes on, who's Batman's actual son that he doesn't know exists for the first eight to 10 years of his life, and he brings into his life and this is a story. It's a very strange sort of father son story about the two of them. And it's based on Grant Morrison's run on the Batman. There's a couple of comic book writers that have been exceptionally influential on our stuff and Grant Morrison and Tom King are probably the two primary ones.”

The DC Universe’s first phase is being referred to as Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, and it will feature several different movies and television shows, some of which include Superman: Legacy, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Swamp Thing, Lanterns, The Authority, and more.
