James Gunn's First Day on the Job at DC Studios Came with an Amusing Social Media Post
James Gunn has officially started his job at DC Studios, and he’s now starting the journey to build up a DC cinematic universe that the fans will be proud of. DC has been trying for years to crack this nut and get this franchise to take off! Well, Gunn may actually be the guy to make this happen, and he is during it with the help of producer Peter Safran.
As co-chairs and co-CEOs of the newly-minted DC Studios, they will plan out the future of the comic book film franchise and have a hand in greenlighting and developing all the DC projects in film, TV, and animation. Fans certainly seem excited to see what is going to come of this.
In celebration of starting his awesome new job, Gunn shared an amusing post on social media. His post features a comic panel of Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman, working at his typewriter, remarking, "Got to restrain myself... or I may absent-mindedly punch this typewriter into twisted wreckage!" Gunn captioned the photo "First day, new job."

It was previously explained that Gunn will “focus on the creative side, while Safran will focus on the business and production side of things. Both are expected to continue to direct and produce projects, respectively.”
Gunn and Safran said in a statement: “We’re honored to be the stewards of these DC characters we’ve loved since we were children. We look forward to collaborating with the most talented writers, directors, and actors in the world to create an integrated, multilayered universe that still allows for the individual expression of the artists involved. Our commitment to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, and the rest of the DC stable of characters is only equaled by our commitment to the wonder of human possibility these characters represent. We’re excited to invigorate the theatrical experience around the world as we tell some of the biggest, most beautiful, and grandest stories ever told.”
What do you think the future of DC will look like now that Gunn and Safran are in charge?
