James Gunn's PEACEMAKER Series Adds Nhut Le in the Role of Judomaster

James Gunn has cast Nhut Le (The Kroll Show, Raven’s Home) in the role of Judomaster in his upcoming Suicide Squad spinoff series Peacemaker. Le will join John Cena who is reprising his role in the series.

Gunn is writing the series and he will direct multiple episodes, including the pilot. HBO Max has ordered eight episodes, and it’s described as being an action-adventure comedy. The exact plot of the series is being kept under wraps, but it is said it will “explore the origins of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.”

Judomaster will be a reoccurring character in the series. There have been three different iterations of the character in DC comics, the main one being Hadley “Rip” Jagger. The character is a master of many martial arts, but his specialty is obviously judo. He also uses his above-average boxing skills in combination with his martial arts. He’s also a former soldier, that is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and knowledgeable of various forms of weaponry. So the dude can fight.

I’m sure there will be some character adjustments made as Gunn brings him to life for the series, but he should still end up being a fun badass character.
