James Gunn's PEACEMAKER Spinoff Adds Robert Patrick, Danielle Brooks, and More
James Gunn is currently in the middle of casting his Peacemaker HBO max series, which is a spinoff of The Suicide Squad. So, as of right now, here are the actors that will be joining John Cena in the film.
Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day; HBO's Perry Mason) is playing Auggie Smith, Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black) is playing Leota Adebayo, Chris Conrad (Patriot) is taking on the role of Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland (Brightburn, American Horror Story) will reprise her role of Emilia Harcourt from The Suicide Squad film, and Steve Agee will also reprise his The Suicide Squad role as John Economos.
Gunn is set to write the series and direct multiple episodes, including the pilot. HBO Max has ordered eight episodes, and it’s described as an action-adventure comedy. While the exact plot of the series is being kept under wraps, we know it will explore the origins of Peacemaker, “a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.”
The Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters on August 6th. We don’t know when the series will be released on HBO Max.
