James Hetfield of Metallica Will Star Opposite Zac Efron in EXTREMELY WICKED

That’s right, the singer from Metallica has decided to try acting and his latest role will be Officer Bob Hayward in the upcoming Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Now, I don’t understand why we’re making a movie about a criminal who charmed, raped and murdered women. I don’t understand the appeal. However, I do find it interesting that James Hetfield will be the Utah cop that first arrested Bundy in 1975. To see Hetfield with his tattoos covered and clean shaven is a little weird if I’m perfectly honest.

Extremely Wicked will star Hetfield as well as Zac Efron, Lilly Collins, and John Malkovich. As a bonus, here’s a picture of Hetfield from the set of the film.

The film is told through the perspective of Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins), Bundy’s longtime girlfriend, who went years denying the accusations against Bundy but ultimately turned him in to the police. Only nearing his execution, when Bundy began talking about his extensive and heinous murders, did Kloepfer, and the rest of the world, learn the true scope of his numerous and grizzly crimes.

The movie also stars John Malkovich as Judge Edward Cowart, who presided over the trial and sentenced Bundy to death. Shortly before he was put to death, he confessed to 30 homicides committed in seven states between 1974 and 1978.

The film is being directed by documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Paradise Lost films) and production is set to begin on January 18th.
