James Marsden and Idina Menzel Officially Returning for DISENCHANTED at Disney
The cast of Disney’s sequel film Disenchanted has officially rounded out with returning actors James Marsden and Idina Menzel coming back. Marsden played the prince and Menzel played Patrick Dempsey’s girlfriend in Enchanted. The pair ended up running off together in the animated land of Andalasia when Dempsey’s Robert and Amy Adams’ Giselle fell in love.
It was already reported that Adams and Dempsey were returning to the second film, as well as Robert’s daughter Morgan, played by Rachel Covey. Now we know that Marsden and Menzel will be included in the storyline.
In a recent interview with JLGB Virtual's YouTube channel for a youth-led interview, Disney composer and songwriter Alan Menken confirmed the casting news when asked about the upcoming Enchanted sequel, saying:
"It's really good. I don't think I'm allowed [to say much]. It's filming. Amy Adams is in it. Patrick is in it. Idina Menzel is in it. James Marsden — they're in it."
I’m so glad they are returning to the second film. I love the first movie, and I can’t wait to see what they do with the sequel. I am especially excited about the music from Menken, as that was one of the best parts of Enchanted.
Disenchanted is currently filming, and will end up on Disney+ when it’s complete. Are you looking forward to watching it?
