James Marsden Says He'd "Be a Fool" to Say No to Reprising His Role in X-MEN If the Opportunity Arose

Now that Marvel has the rights to the X-Men franchise, fans are excited for a future reboot with the characters they love in a world where the MCU has control. The X-Men films we have gotten in the past started out strong, and ended up as box office bombs. I personally was a fan of many of the portrayals, including Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and James Marsden, but I know everyone has their own opinions on who would be the ultimate actors to bring these characters to the screen.

While MCU president Kevin Feige is incredibly busy with the fourth phase of the films rolling out in the next two years, there isn’t an X-Men film yet on the schedule, but when Marsden was recently asked if he would like to return to the films if he was asked, you can guess what his answer was. The former Cyclops actor was recently interviewed by ScreenRant about his film Sonic, and the interviewer geeked out, as he grew up watching Marsden portray the character Cyclops in the X-Men movies. He asked him about how he would feel about the possibility of returning to the character, and Marsden responded:

“I look at those three movies I was in, and they became a huge part of my life. It was a family, all of them. I was very grateful. It was forty years at the time, of backstory and iconic characters, beloved characters. So I’d be a fool to say no to that, of course I wouldn’t. So who knows where the universe goes. Feige is still a friend of mine, and we talk occasionally, but you just don’t know where it’s going to go. Right now it’s with all the young ones, all the kiddos. But I would never be opposed to going back to that. I hold a special place in my heart for that experience.”

It’s going to be awesome to see the X-Men back at Marvel, and I think it would be cool to see Marsden back in the role. But we will just have to see how it is all going to pan out. In the meantime, tell us who you would cast as the members of the X-Men team!
