James McAvoy and Bill Hader in Talks To Join IT: CHAPTER 2

With IT: Chapter 2 preparing to start shooting in July, director Andy Muschietti needs to fill out his cast! We already know that Jessica Chastain will be taking on the role of Beverly Marsh in the film, but thanks to THR, we've learned that James McAvoy and Bill Hader are now in early talks to join the film!

McAvoy is in talks to take on the older version of Bill Denbrough, the leader of The Loser's Club, who was played by Jaeden Lieberher in the first film, and Hader would play jokester Richie Tozier, who was played by Finn Wolfhard. I've gotta say... I really do love these casting choices! It's not hard to imagine them in those roles at all. I'd be very happy if they ended up being officially cast.

The next film will be set 27 years after the Losers Club defeated Pennywise The Clown when they were kids. As they've grown up, they've forgotten about what had happened. When bad things start to happen in Derry again and kids begin to go missing, Mike Hanlon, who stayed behind in Derry to keep watch over the town, calls up his old friends to remind them of the promise they made to come back and stop it if it ever came back.

Bill Skarsgard will be back as Pennywise and the young cast from the first film will return to shoot flashback scenes. Those actors include Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Nicholas Hamilton.

What do you think about James McAvoy and Bill Hader possibly taking on the roles of Bill and Ritchie?

IT: Chapter 2 will be released in theaters on September 6, 2019.
