James Spader Says Ultron Is "Batshit Crazy!" in AVENGERS Sequel

"I'm going to show you something beautiful… everyone screaming for mercy..."

Yesterday fans got their first look at Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron, and I think we can all agree that James Spader will give a freakin' terrifying performance in the movie. Ultron is creepy as hell, and Spader is obviously the perfect actor to take on this villainous role. In a recent interview with Total Film, the actor discussed the character he plays, starting off with the humorous side of the villain.

"There's a humorous aspect to him, which is something that drew me in from the very first conversation I had with Joss [Whedon]. In many ways he's a child, this character, because he's a brand new being who's just come to be. And yet, through artificial intelligence, he has an incredible capacity for knowledge. So he's a very powerful, smart child."

The actor then compares the difference between his morally ambivalent character on The Blacklist, and the evil robot villain that we will see in the Avengers sequel.

"Ultron takes abrupt turns in scenes. Red isn't pyschopathic but Ultron is. Yes, he is psychopathic. He's really batshit crazy!"

You could definitely see that in the trailer that was released, but I bet that things are going to be even more psychotic in the movie. I can't wait to see what else this movie has to offer! One thing is for sure, Ultron is going wreak havoc unlike anything we've seen in a Marvel movie before.
