James Wan Says His New Horror Film Will Be a "Hard-R Thriller" with "Old School Practical Effects"
Last week it was announced that James Wan was going to direct a new original horror film. There wasn’t a lot of information given in regards to the film, but he did recently share a bit of information on his Facebook page that is sure to excite horror movie fans.
He doesn’t offer any details on what the story will entail, but he did say this:
"There’s been a bit of speculation as to what my next project is… all I’ll say is, I’m super excited to go back to my indie roots with this hard-R thriller. An original horror idea (not a reboot/remake or anything based on existing IP) with old school, practical effects and no giant, blue screen sets.”
James Wan’s career blew up when he made Saw, and since then he’s been delivering one great film after another. I especially enjoy the horror film that he has made, and I can’t wait to see what exactly he’s got up his sleeve for this one!
The untitled project is set up at New Line Cinema and Wan’s Atomic Monster, and he will co-write the script with Ingrid Bisu. The movie will shoot this fall in Los Angeles.
